Two young men, arrested in a drug case, were granted bail by the Bandra magistrate court on Saturday. The men, identified as Faqrudin Sayyed Ali and Gopal Mooponr, will be spending one more night at a quarantine centre in Byculla, before they are released.
The incident occurred on November 26 at Matunga Labour camp at Matunga East. According to the police, 485 gm of MD, and a gun and bullet, were placed inside Ali's home by an accused Naeem Qureshi.
The duo was arrested following a police raid. Investigations revealed that Nicolas Pandian alias Nikki,who is still absconding, was responsible for planting the drugs.
The Sahu Nagar police submitted a detailed report of the case at the Bandra Magistrate Court on Friday. In the report, the police stated that Ali and Mooponr are innocent, and that they were framed.
