The Borivli police booked a woman for allegedly blackmailing and trying to extort Rs 25 lakh from a businessman.
According to police sources, the victim met the accused during the opening ceremony of a marriage hall and the two had exchanged phone numbers.
The victim told the police that the woman had called him to her house in Borivli on March 3 to talk about a business deal. "When I went to her house, she told me that she was into prostitution. She tried to hug me and took off my clothes. She also took my photos with a hidden camera. However, I escaped from her house and never contacted her again," the victim told the police.
A couple of days later, the victim received a massage reading âcall me' from an unknown number. When the victim called on that number, the accused woman demanded Rs 25 lakh and blackmailed him that she will share his photos with his relatives and friends on social media.

The victim tried negotiating but the accused woman refused, following which he registered a complaint at Borivli police station on Tuesday.
"We have registered the case against the woman under Sections 384 and 385 of the IPC. We are now verifying the complainant's claims and tracing the accused," said an officer from Borivli police station.
