The police arrested a person, who along with an aide, stabbed a 27-year-old man in Thane. The injured person, identified as Prathamesh Nigudkar, is a witness in an attempt to murder case.
According to a report in the Times of India, the accused, identified as Abhishek Jadhav, and his aide Mandar Gawde, work for gangster Amit Bhogale.
In his statement to the police, Nigudkar said he is one of the witnesses in a firing case in which Jadhav and Gawde are accused. The incident dates back to July 15, 2019, when Nigudkar's friend Aditya Kshirsagar was shot in Airoli area of Navi Mumbai.
Datta Dhole, senior inspector of Wagle Estate police station, said, "There is something more in the case and once Nigudkar is in proper condition, we shall question him."

Nigudkar was taken to a private hospital where his condition is said to be stable. The police have registered a case against the accused under various sections, including attempt to murder and sections of the Arms Act.
A manhunt has been launched to nab the other accused.
