Mumbai crime: In a shocking incident, a jewellery shop in south Mumbai was allegedly robbed at gunpoint and gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees, the police sources said on Saturday.
In the matter, the LT Marg police in Mumbai have registered an FIR against unknown individuals for allegedly robbing 130 grams of gold from a jewellery shop at gunpoint.
"Three people came to my shop on Thursday. One of them stood outside my shop while two entered. One of the alleged accused pointed a gun at me, and the other robbed 130 grams of gold in front of my eyes. No one said a thing; they beat me and then looted me. I have submitted the CCTV footage of the incident to the police," said Prashant Shaw, the owner of the jewelry shop.
The police have registered an FIR against unknown individuals under Section 394 (Voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) and under the relevant sections of the Arms Act.

Confirming the registration of an offence, LT Marg police station Senior PI Dyaneshwar Wagh said, "We have registered an FIR in this matter and the case is at its primary stage."
Police sources said that further investigations in the matter were underway.
