The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has seized drugs worth around Rs 1 crore and arrested one person.
According to sources, on Saturday, the NCB raided areas in Nalasopara and Vasai, and seized 505 gm of Mephedrone drugs. The NCB has arrested Mohammad Ejaz Yakub Shaikh, a resident of JJ Marg Road, who had bought these drugs from a Nigerian citizen and was supposed to supply it in Mumbai.
The NCB conducted the raid near National Highway, Chinchoti Phata, Vasai East and seized 205 gm of Mephedrone drugs. Officials later raided a place in Nalasopara and seized 300 gm of Mephedrone and arrested Shaikh.
An NCB official, requesting anonymity, said, "There is no [previous] case against the arrested accused in the NCB. We are investigating whom he was supplying the drugs to."

NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede said, "Further investigation is underway to nab the supplier of the seized drugs and establish other links of drug smugglers in Mumbai as well."
