Roshni's brothers from Panvel, Thane and Virar arrived at Sanmaan Nagar Wadala Village. They found their 28-year-old sister is not breathing. Her husband Rajesh was insisting she shouldn't undergo post-mortem and rather should be taken to hometown for last rites.
"Mahesh and Jagdish Esare, brothers of Roshni told Rajesh that, they should take her to hospital as it's a procedure before taking any dead body out of city," said an official from Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Marg police station. "Though Rajesh was resisting the move, Roshni's brother didn't paid any heed and took her to KEM Hospital" he added.
Doctors at KEM's emergency medical room declared her dead on arrival. After finding suspicious bluish black coloured marks on Roshni's neck and sent the dead body to post-mortem with the marks. During post-mortem, doctors issued primary opinion as âAsphyxia as a result of ligature compression of neck (unnatural), Necessary samples preserved'.
Based on the findings, Mahadeo Nimbalkar, Senior Inspector of RAK Marg Police station directed cops to question Rajesh about it. Meanwhile, panchnama of the house was carried out where no signs of hanging were found. During confession Rajesh told that Roshni used to consistently ask him about his extramarital affair which would lead to often fights between two. Tired of consistent fights with his wife, Rajesh decided to end her life and allegedly strangulated her by a blue shawl when she was asleep.
"As per the post-mortem report, statement of deceased brothers and questioning of accused we have booked him on early hours of Friday under IPC section 302 (murder). The accused is in police custody" said DCP (Zone 4) Prashant Kadam.
