A screengrab of the fake Facebook account
The Maharashtra Nodal Cyber Police have arrested an Agra-based man, who created a fake Facebook profile in the name of Director General of Police, Sanjay Pandey. The arrested youth made the account from his mother's cell phone. After a complaint was filed by Advocate Atal Bihari Dubey, who received multiple friend requests from the account, the cyber cops nabbed the accused by tracing the URL of the fake account.
The arrested accused has been identified as 21-year-old Mehfuz Azim Khan. As part of the investigation, the cops had sought the IP address and number from Facebook, following which the URL was traced. The cops traced the number to Agra and found out that it belonged to Savana Azim. However, it was being used by her son Mehfuz.
