A 20-year-old man was booked for trying to break open an ATM kiosk in Santacruz (East) recently.
The accused, identified as Mohammad Armaan Shaikh, was caught by security employee Krishna Pawar while he was hiding in an ATM kiosk with a hammer, wrench and pliers, around 12.30 am on Sunday, stated a report in The Times of India.
Pawar, who checks ATMS in Saki Naka-Bandra, alerted his superior, who told him to nab the intruder and alert the police.
"Shaikh mistook Pawar for a customer. The security employee tried to catch hold of him but Shaikh pulled out a knife and threatened him. He had a pair of scissors too," an official said.
