A Nalasopara based jeweller was allegedly killed inside his own jewellery shop by two unidentified robbers on Saturday morning.
The deceased identified as Kishor Jain owned Sakshi Jewellers outside ST bus depot near Nalasopara West Railway station. The incident took place at around 11 am when Kishor opened his shop, the police said. Two men wearing masks and raincoats carrying four sharp weapons entered Kishor's shop while he was performing puja. The duo asked Kishore for the locker key and when he refused to do so, he was dragged inside the storeroom near the main locker. The entire incident has been captured by the CCTV camera installed in the shop.
According to the police, the duo stabbed Kishore multiple times in the head with sharp weapons. Due to multiple injuries, he died on the spot. Later both the robbers tried to open the locker with many keys but failed to open it.
Speaking with mid-day, DCP Prashant Wagunde said, "According to the CCTV footage, we found that the accused were inside the shop more than 30 minutes and they killed the deceased brutally. The accused received multiple injuries on his neck, head and body. We are in search of the accused."

"At around 11.36 am, one of the accused came outside the shop and gave signal to the other accused that nobody is outside the shop. After coming out of the shop, both took a left turn and fled away from the spot with jewellery worth lakhs. Later, when the neighbouring shop owner visited Kishore, he found him lying on the floor and immediately informed the police. The Nalasopara police rushed to the spot and informed dog squad team, fingerprint team at the spot," police sources said.
The Mira-Bhayander-Vasai-Virar police did not have a single dog squad team and they had to call the dog squad from Thane. "The dog squad team reached the spot five hours after the incident which led to delay in the investigation. Shockingly, Mira-Bhayander-Vasai-Virar police were not equipped with a fingerprint team or a dog squad team which was urgently needed," the police sources said.
A murder and robbery case has been registered under different provisions of the IPC.
