The two accused were arrested on Tuesday
The Dahisar police arrested two history-sheeters on Tuesday for allegedly kidnapping and looting a 22-year-old motor recovery officer, who accidentally hit a woman.
According to the police, the complainant Harsh Panchal was riding a two-wheeler when he accidentally hit a woman walking on the road. Due to the impact of the accident, the woman's mobile phone dropped from her hand and broke.
The woman raised an alarm and crowd gathered at the spot. Panchal apologised to the woman and offered to get her phone fixed.
"The matter was sorted and Panchal was leaving from the spot when the two accused - Manish Shinde and Mahesh More, who were sitting in an auto nearby, started assaulting him. On the pretext of handing him over to the police, they forcibly made Panchal sit in the auto and took him to a lonely place. They brutally assaulted him and snatched valuables and Rs 10,000 cash from Panchal," the police officer said.
