A woman staff member was threatened with a knife by a 22-year-old man in an inebriated condition at Sewri railway station on Monday morning.
The youth also attacked a constable.
He wielded a knife at the woman, a railway announcer, and demanded that she serve him alcohol, stated a report in The Times of India.
"The lady announcer managed to escape unhurt and alerted the government railway police (GRP)," Central Railway (CR) spokesperson said.

The youth also attacked the railway police constable who reached the spot when the police was alerted.
"The man attacked a constable, piercing the knife through his trouser, above the knee," said the CR spokesperson.
The incident led to panic at the station.
GRP personnel eventually nabbed the youth and took him to the station master's office where he became violent and ransacked the room. The accused has been taken into custody by the GRP. Further investigation is on.
