The officers of AIU on June 18 intercepted a passenger Suresh Ganesan at 2:00 pm holding Malaysian passport who arrived from Singapore by Jet Airway flight 9W 009 from Singapore.

He was found to be carrying 14 gold bars of 100 gram each totally weighing 1400 gram and totally valued around Rs 39 lakh on his person strapped clandestinely around his waist by tapes.

He was going to hand over the said gold bars to some person in Mumbai through a girl named Pooja Biswas who came to receive the passenger outside CSI Airport, Mumbai.

The passenger Ganesh had to return to Singapore the same day in the evening to Singapore. A return ticket to this effect was found with him. Both Pooja and Ganesh were arrested.

An AIU officisl said that further inquiry in the case is under process.
