In a press conference on February 27, the Joint Commissioner of Mumbai Police, Milind Bhambre, said that the police have not ruled out terror angle in the Mukesh Ambani threat case.

Another senior official said, "When there is a terror attack or terror organisations are involved, they often claim responsibility. Twenty-four hours have passed, nobody has claimed, but that does not rule out the terror angle."

Bhambre added that the police are investigating all aspects of the case and CCTV footages from across the city are being scanned. However, the origin of the Innova and Scorpio cars are not known yet. The police are also trying to find out who the dealers and buyers of the gelatin sticks are even though explosive like these are manufactured and sold in huge quantities, he said.

The owner of the SUV car was brought to the police station and his statement was recorded. Manshuk Hiren claims that on February 18, he left his vehicle at Vikhroli highway due to some technical reasons, and later it got stolen. He had filed an FIR with the Vikhroli police the same day.
