A 30-year-old man, wanted in connection with a ganja seizure, was apprehended by the police in Maharashtra's Palghar district after being on the run for four months, an official said on Monday, reported news agency PTI.
The police recently apprehended Lallu alias Bhavesh Prabhakar Chavan, a resident of Nalla Sopara, who had been absconding since June after a seizure of ganja, assistant police inspector Yeshpal Suryavanshi of Achole police station said, reported PTI.
Chavan was allegedly the financier in the entire racket, and has several offences to his name in the jurisdiction of Mira Bhayander Virar Vasai and Mumbai police, he said, reported PTI.
The accused allegedly supplied ganja with the help of four other accused involved in the racket, the official said, reported PTI.

A probe has revealed that Chavan was involved in serious offences such as extortion, attempt to murder etc and was arrested by the Mumbai police earlier, he said, reported PTI.
In another case, Mumbai Police arrested a drug peddler from the Masjid Bunder area of Maharashtra and recovered high-quality charas drugs worth Rs 2 crore 40 lakh from him, police officials said on Sunday, reported ANI.
"The Worli Unit of the Anti-Narcotics Cell of Mumbai Police arrested a drug peddler from the Masjid Bunder area and recovered high-quality charas," the Mumbai Police said, reported ANI.
The accused, identified as Hussain Abdullah Shirgaonkar (aged 48) and is a resident of Mumbra, Thane, reported ANI.
A senior police official said that the investigation into the matter was started following a case registered against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, reported ANI.
Shirgaonkar was produced in court, where the court sent him to police custody till November 8, reported ANI.
Meanwhile, police have seized brown sugar worth Rs 3.90 lakh from two persons at Virar in Maharashtra's Palghar district, and arrested the duo, an official said on Saturday, reported PTI.
The action against them was taken on November 2, he said, reported PTI.
"Acting on a tip-off that some people were coming near a hotel in Manvelpada in Virar, the local police laid a trap. Around 10.30 pm, when two suspicious persons were spotted near the place, the police nabbed them," senior inspector Pramod Badakh of Crime Unit-III of Virar police said, reported PTI.
During their search, 17 grams of brown sugar valued at Rs 3.90 lakh was recovered, he said, reported PTI.
Following the recovery of the drug, the police arrested the duo Amir Jakar Khan (35) and Haresh Manoj Patil (29), under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, reported PTI.
