A man was arrested in Thane district of Maharashtra allegedly with ganja, charas and hashish worth Rs 31.45 lakh. He allegedly took took drug supply orders through social media, a police official said on Friday, reported the PTI.
According to the PTI, Rushabh Sanjay Bhalerao (28) took drug supply orders on Instagram and couriered the contraband home, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shivajirao Patil said.
"A Crime Branch Unit V team led by Senior Inspector Vikas Ghodke nabbed him from Indira Nagar in Wage Estate area on a tip off on Wednesday. We seized 3.2 kilograms of ganja worth Rs 30,200 from him at the time," the DCP said, as per the PTI.
"A search of his house yielded 60.5 kilograms of ganja, 290 grams of charas and 19 small bottles with hashish oil cumulatively valued at Rs 31 lakh. It was the first time hash was seized by Thane police," the official added, the news agency reported.

Rushabh Bhalerao was remanded in police custody till February 12 and probe was underway to unravel the peddling network, the DCP said.
Meanwhile, in an another incident, two Mumbai drug peddlers were arrested in Versova area of Andheri after mephedrone (MD) drugs worth over Rs 2.40 crore was seized from them, Crime Branch officials had said on Saturday, reported ANI.
Around 1,020 grams of MD drugs was seized from them, they said.
According to Mumbai Crime Branch officials, a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the two Mumbai drug peddlers.
We are further looking into the case, they said.
Earlier, two Nigerians were recently arrested by Mumbai Police's Anti Narcotics Cell from Aarey area of Goregaon with mephedrone worth Rs 17.40 lakh, reported PTI.
They allegedly supplied drugs in Vasai, Virar and Nalasopara areas of neighbouring Palghar district, an official said.
The Ghatkopar Unit of the Anti-Narcotics Cell made a significant arrest by apprehending two Nigerian drug peddlers in the Goregaon area.
The suspects were found in possession of MD drugs with an estimated value exceeding Rs 17 lakh in the international market.
Following the seizure, a case was registered against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Both individuals were presented in court, where they were remanded to police custody until February 6th. The arrested drug peddlers were reportedly involved in supplying drugs in Mumbai and Palghar districts, officials said.
