The police booked a man for allegedly attacking his estranged wife and their son with a knife in Maharashtra's Dombivali in Thane district, a police official said on Thursday, according to the PTI.
The woman, who lives with her mother in Karnataka, had come to the accused's home for the marriage anniversary of their son on Wednesday, he said, as per the PTI.
"The accused and the woman had an argument, after which he attacked her with a knife. Their son, who intervened, was also injured. Both are hospitalised," the official told the PTI.
On the complaint of the son, the man has been booked for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon, criminal intimidation and other offences but the latter is yet to arrested, the Dombivali police station official added.
Meanwhile, in an another incident, the Thane Police in Maharashtra on Thursday registered a case against three persons for allegedly killing a 25-year-old man over a financial dispute and trying to burn the body, an official said, according to the PTI.
Girish Gode, senior inspector of Chitalsar police station, said the accused, identified as Gurunath Kakdya Jadhav (27), Karan Anil Sawra (24) and Prashant, alias Babu Maruti Jabar (21), have been detained, as per the PTI.
Akash Thube, a resident of Vasant Vihar area, was on August 29 killed with a sharp weapon at Jadhav's home over a monetary dispute, the official said. He was apparently associated with the Shiv Sena led by Chief Minster Eknath Shinde, reported the PTI.
The accused trio later set Thube's body afire near a hill after taking out gold jewellery. A case has been registered against the three under Indian Penal Code sections, including 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence).
Meanwhile, in an another incident, Mumbai Police on Wednesday solved a horrifying case of murder in the eastern suburbs of the city and arrested a 33-year-old man for allegedly killing a 17-year-old teenager, then dismembering his body in the kitchen of the house.
According to the police, on August 28, the RCF police in eastern suburbs of Mumbai had got information regarding a dismembered dead body of a young boy. Upon receiving the information, the officials from the RCF police rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body for a post mortem. The police later registered a murder case and arrested the accused.
