In a tragic incident in Nalasopara East in Maharashtra, a 14-year-old boy died after accidentally falling from the terrace while adjusting a dish antenna on the rooftop, the officials said on Friday.
The boy, identified as Adarsh Mishra, was at home with his sister Aarti Mishra in the Sai Shrishti society at Shivam Nagar, Moregaon, Nalasopara East. The unfortunate incident took place when the family had gone to Uttar Pradesh, leaving the siblings under their sister's care, the officials added.
The Mishra family resides on the 5th floor of the building. On Thursday afternoon, Adarsh and Aarti were watching television at home. However, the television screen was not displaying the picture clearly, prompting Adarsh to take matters into his own hands and adjust the dish antenna on the terrace, police sources said.
Adarsh went up to the building's roof to fix the dish antenna, hoping to improve the TV broadcast. Tragically, while attempting to straighten the antenna, he lost his balance and fell from the terrace of the 8-storey building. He was immediately rushed to a municipal hospital in Tulinj, Palghar for treatment. Despite efforts to save him, Adarsh succumbed to his injuries during the treatment.
