The Kurar police have allegedly arrested a history-sheeter for threatening to kill an SRA developer in Malad East on Thursday.
According to the police officers, the accused identified as Hanif Ghachi (36) barged into the office of the Doodhwala developers in Triveni Nagar in Kurar at Malad East and threatened the developer with a knife.
The officials said that the site supervisor Muzamil Imran called up the Kurar police at 12.35 pm on Thursday after Ghachi entered their office demanding to know why the developer had not to taken his permission before vacating the slums at Triveni Nagar and starting the SRA project.
According to sources, more than 12 criminal cases under various sections of IPC have been registered against Ghachi in Mumbai, out of which two cases are of a scuffle with the police. Ghachi reportedly worked as an informer for the former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh and the encounter specialist Police Inspector Ravindra Angre and many others officers.

The Doodhwala Developer has started a project under SRA in Triveni Nagar at Malad East. Preparation for development was being done by removing the slum.
Officials of the BMC were taking steps to remove the eligible slum dwellers with whom the developer had an agreement. In the meantime, Ghachi reached there and started abusing the supervisor at the site.
According to the complainant's statement,, Ghachi tried to stop the operation by posing as a local municipal corporator, when he did not succeed, he started threatening everyone by taking a knife out of his pocket.
"We have booked and arrested Ghachi under section 170 (pretends as a public servant), 447 (Punishment for criminal trespass), 448 (Punishment for house-trespass), 504(intentionally insults) and 506(2) (Punishment for criminal intimidation) and various sections of arms act 1959 section 25 and 4, he was produced before the court today," said senior inspector Parkash Bele from Kurar police station.
