The Borivli and Andheri Government Railway Police (GRP) have arrested two persons in two different cases, for molestation. The two accused - Praveen Bansilal Jain, 52, and Mukesh Soni, 43, - are remanded in judicial custody.
On Tuesday afternoon, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly molested by Jain. Police sources said the minor boarded the local from Malad station and was on her way to her college in Andheri. The accused took advantage of the crowd and touched her inappropriately.
The girl tried to raise an alarm, but the accused threatened to push her off the train. The minor, then messaged her friend, asking him to alert the Andheri GRP officers. When the train reached Andheri station, one of the passengers nabbed the accused on the platform and approached the Andheri GRP.
The Andheri GRP registered a case and handed it over to Borivli GRP. We have arrested Jain for molestation under the POCSO Act. The accused sells clothes for a living and is a resident of Dahisar," said senior inspector Anil Kadam.

In the second incident, the complainant was on her way to Goregaon on Tuesday evening, when the accused Soni, who was seated in the handicap ped persons' compartment, flashed her. When the local arrived at the Andheri station, she raised an alarm. The police officers on patrol duty nabbed Soni, said an officer from Andheri GRP.
"We have arrested Soni and have registered a case against him. During the interrogation it has been revealed Soni lives in Kurar, Malad, and works as a labourer. He was produced in court and was remanded in judicial custody," the officer added.
