Gosavi’s troubles began mounting after his selfie with Aryan Khan went viral
Ever since his selfie with Aryan Khan went viral, troubles have been mounting for K P Gosavi, the witness in the drugs-on-cruise case. Now, the Pimpri police have filed another case against him for allegedly duping a Pune resident of R2.25 lakh on the promise of getting him a job abroad. Gosavi, who now faces four cases, is already in the custody of Pune cops.
In the latest case against Gosavi, Vijay Kumar Kanade, 33, has filed a complaint at Bhosari police station of Pimpri-Chinchwad. The complainant has told the police that he was looking for a job in 2015 and had uploaded his CV on job portals. He used to receive offers every now and then. On March 21 of that year, Kanade said he was contacted by Shiva International through the mail for a job at a hotel in a foreign country. After Kanade sent his resume, Gosavi got in touch with him and allegedly promised to get him the job. The two met at Nashikphata in Pune where Gosavi took Rs 30,000, said the complainant.
Kanade said he was asked to visit Shiv International's office on Ghodbunder Road in Thane. There too, he gave Rs 40,000 to the accused on April 5 and deposited Rs 2 0,000 more in a bank account given by Gosavi.
As per the complaint, Gosavi also collected Rs 10,000 towards medical tests. In all, the complainant shelled out Rs 2.25 lakh at the behest of Gosavi. However, he was never given the job nor did Gosavi return the money, alleged Kanade.
The Pune resident said he approached the police on Thursday after learning that Gosavi has been accused of cheating others in a similar fashion and is behind bars.
P D Gaikwad of Bhosari police station told mid-day, "After receiving a complaint against Kiran Gosavi, an FIR has been registered. The matter is being investigated by API Gokul Mahajan."
"Currently, Gosavi is in the custody of Lashkar police, Pune. After his custody is over, Bhosari police will seek Gosavi's custody from the court," said Gaikwad.
The first case against Gosavi was registered at Faraskhana police station in 2018 in Pune. It was alleged that Gosavi had cheated a person named Chinmoy Deshmukh of s R3.09 lakh in the name of placing him at a Malaysian hotel.
As per the second case, registered at Lashkar police station, Gosavi allegedly duped three people of about R4 lakh in the name of getting a job in Malaysia in 2020.
Gosavi came under the spotlight after the Narcotics Control Bureau busted a rave party on a Goa-bound cruise on October 2 and claimed to have recovered drugs. The agency arrested actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan the next day in connection with the party. However, soon a selfie of Gosavi with Khan went viral. Days later, Prabhakar Sail, an independent witness in the case, alleged that Gosavi had demanded R25 crore from Shahrukh Khan's manager Pooja Dadlani through one Sam D'Souza to keep Khan off the case. The case also prompted state minister Nawab Malik to level several allegations, mainly directed at NCB's Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede. Gosavi was arrested on October 28.
There are a total for cases registered against Kiran Gosavi, three in Pune and one in Pimpri Chinchwad.
One of the cases has been registered at the Wanwadi police station in Pune on the basis of a complaint from a resident of Mohammad Wadi area. The complainant has alleged that Gosavi took Rs 1.5 lakh from him after promising a job in Malaysia in 2018-19 and then threatened him when he asked for his money back.
Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta confirmed that three cases were registered against Gosavi in Pune. Gupta told mid-day, "Cases have been registered against Kiran Gosavi at Faraskhana, Wanawadi and Lashkar police stations in Pune. Gosavi has cheated people by luring them with jobs."
