The Powai Police on Wednesday arrested Ganesh Mansaaram Sataban, 23, who, in Munnabhai style, appeared as a dummy for a job aspirant in MHADA's (Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority) technical and non-technical junior engineer exams. A few days ago, the Pune Police had exposed the scam of online exams, that had revealed manipulation in the answer sheets and results of the teacher eligibility test (TET) in the recruitment exams held by various departments of Maharashtra government and now the Powai police are investigating Sataban had a link with that case as well.
The officers said the job aspirant is absconding, but they have arrested Sataban, who was also carrying an electronic device while sitting for the exam.
MHADA had posted vacancies for 14 technical and 565 non-technical jobs, for which an exam was conducted on Tuesday at the Oram IT Park, Pawai, from 4 pm to 6 pm. It was here that Sataban, who hails from Jalgaon, appeared for another person, said Senior Inspector Budhan Sawant.
The MHADA officer present at the examination hall suspected Sataban and searched him. During the scan, the officer found a hall ticket, Master Card, Aadhaar card, and driving licence of the job aspirant, on whose behalf Sataban had appeared. When questioned, Sataban was unable to give satisfactory answers to the examiner.

The examiner handed over Sataban to the Powai Police, who took him to the police station for further questioning.
Sataban confessed to being âdummy' examinee and said he was promised a handsome amount for this.
"We are now trying to find the other accused, on whose behalf Sataban was appearing for the exam. The search is also on for the person from who they took the device," said Senior Inspector Budhan Sawant from Powai police station.
