In a bone-chilling incident, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped, murdered and then set on fire inside her house in Delhi last week. The girl was apparently alone at home when the crime occurred.
Two suspects have been held in connection with the horrific case so far.
According to media reports, the teenager's mother discovered her burnt body on Thursday. While cops initially thought it was a case of suicide, autopsy reports confirmed that she was strangled.
Media reports further stated that a friend of the victim told the police that two men in the neighbourhood were harassing and even sexually assaulting her. It is being suspected that the attackers burnt the victim's body to hide the sexual assault.
The shocking news came in just a day after the brutal Bulandshahr incident, in which a woman and her teenage daughter were gang-raped at Bulandshahr bypass on Delhi- Kanpur National Highway.
