A woman was allegedly killed by her husband here, police said today. According to a statement of the woman's brother, her sister was married on December 14, 2017, but a few days after the marriage, the man started harassing her, they said.
He said that he came to know about her sister's death yesterday, the police said. The woman's brother said that she had injuries on her neck and stomach and alleged that his sister was killed by her husband, they said.
Mandi Gobindgarh station house officer Sukhbir Singh said on the statement of the deceased's brother, the police have registered a case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the man, who is at large, and have started investigation. After conducting post-mortem, the body was handed over to the relatives of the deceased, he said.
