A minor girl abducted about a fortnight ago has been rescued from an east Delhi house and a woman arrested on charge of illegally confining her and pushing her into the flesh trade, police said on Sunday. Police said the 12-year-old was abducted on January 2 from New Seelampur area though the matter was reported to police on January 7 by her mother. She was kidnapped by one Faizan, a close aide of the accused woman.
The arrest was made on Friday on a tip-off after police raided her house in Mustafabad. "Faizan abducted her and handed her over to the woman who confined and forced her to have physical relations with different persons. Her intentions were to push the minor into flesh trade in others cities," Deputy Commissioner of Police Ajit Kumar Singla said.
"The accused woman, 32, is poor and lives along with her toddler son in Mustafabad. She works as waiter and cook to earn a livelihood. She wanted to make easy money through the flesh trade." The girl's father works as a labourer. Raids were on to arrest Faizan, Singla said.
