A railway coach attendant aboard the Vikramshila Express was held by cops for questioning after a woman lodged a molestation complaint against him.

A railway coach attendant was today held by police at Uttar Pradesh's Mughalsarai junction after a woman passenger lodged a molestation complaint against him.

A Government Railway Police (GRP) spokesman said the incident with the woman happened on board the Vikramshila Express while travelling from New Delhi to Patna, in its B-2 coach.

The woman alleged that the coach attendant molested her and tried to force himself on her after the train left Allahabad. When the train reached Mughalsarai, the woman, who works in Canada, lodged a complaint with the GRP station after which the attendant was taken off the train and detained for questioning.

"The passenger who made a complaint was seated on berth number four and she accused the coach attendant of trying to molest her. We are probing the matter and co-passengers of the woman have been questioned," said a GRP official.
