New Delhi: A 13-year-old girl was today allegedly molested by her mother's live-in partner in South Delhi's Neb Sarai area, police said.
The incident took place when the victim's mother was out for work and she was alone at home with her mother's live-in partner. "The accused locked himself in the room and started sexually abusing the girl.
However, as the girl screamed for help, he fled the house," said a police official, quoting the victim's statement. The accused had been living with the victim and her mother after the girl's father passed away few years ago.
The girl was counselled with the help of an NGO and a case has been registered at the Neb Sarai police station, he said.
"A case has been registered under 354a, (sexual harassment) and under various sections of Protection of Children against Sexual offences (POCSO)," the police official said.
