Senior IAS officer held on charges of molesting a girl

A senior Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer was today arrested by the Government Railway Police (GRP) on charges of molesting a girl in a train.

A case under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been lodged against the IAS officer by the girl, who hails from Delhi, GRP sources said.

The girl has alleged in the FIR that the officer travelling with her in the Lucknow-bound train had misbehaved with her and tried to molest her last night,sources said.

The matter was being investigated, they said. The officer is presently posted in the technical education department in Lucknow. u00a0
