Unidentified burglars, on Sunday forcefully entered a house in Pune and not only made away with cash worth of Rs 3 lakh but also murdered the house owner.
The deceased has been identified by police as Narayan Nagdev (50), a resident of Mangala talkies in Shivajinagar. The incident came to light after Gangaram, brother of the deceased lodged a complaint with Shivajinagar police station.
Senior Inspector N V Jadhav in-charge of Shivajinagar police station said, "The incident took place at Narayan's house on wee hours of Sunday. The victim Narayan was killed by strangling. The intruder then robbed cash, gold, LCD television set and other valuable worth of Rs 3 lakh."
Further investigations are on.
