A police nayak attached to the Navi Mumbai police was arrested by the anti-corruption bureau last afternoon while taking a bribe.

Additional superintendent of police Shrinivas Ghadge said the accused demanded and accepted Rs 10,000 at the complainant's house at Sukapur in Panvel tehsil.
The complainant's wife had approached the police after the couple had a quarrel. Police nayak Padmakar Naga Patil allegedly demanded Rs 15,000 from the complainant for not registering a case against him based on the wife's complaint.
Later he agreed to take Rs 10,000. After the complainant approached the ACB, a trap was set and Patil was arrested red-handed.
