Police are on the lookout for two bike-borne men, who allegedly kidnapped a 13-year-old girl in Ulhasnagar on Saturday. The teenager, who returned home after two hours, could not remember what happened to her when she was abducted, as she claimed she had become unconscious. Sources confirmed that the girl's family has now registered a complaint with the Vitthalwadi Police.

According to the police sources, the incident took place around 1.45 pm on February 3, at Sector 26, Ulhasnagar IV. "The victim claimed that two bike-borne men, who were around 25 years of age, grabbed her and took her with them. However, she soon became unconscious. When she woke up two hours later, she was near her home. She then narrated the entire ordeal to her parents and a case was registered," said an official with the Vitthalwadi Police.

A case has been registered at Vitthalwadi police station under section 363 (punishment for kidnapping) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.

However, a source said that the cops are yet to verify the girl's claims. "The police suspect that the girl was in a relationship with someone in the locality and went to roam with him. But, after her parents questioned her on her disappearance, she might have concocted this story," said the source.

When contacted, S Shirsat, senior police inspector, Vitthalwadi Police said, "We are investigating the case from all angles and will trace the accused soon."
