A report in the Hindustan Times states that the accused met the 31-year-old woman while they worked together in Powai. From 2012 to 2015, the accused would often invite the victim to his house and force himself on her. While he offered to marry her, the victim put off the proposal due to her mother's illness, stating that she would consider it once her mother was in a better state of health.
An FIR has been registered in the Bandra police station against the accused under Sections 376(2)(n) and 417 for repeatedly commiting rape on a woman and cheating.
