In a shocking incident a man lit his neightbour's door on fire as revenge for a police complaint he filed against him. The incident occurred at the victim's Bandra Reclamation home as per a report by Indian Express.
The incident came to light when the victim's neighbor called to tell him that his front door was on fire. He then rushed to his apartment and called the fire brigade and police. As per the police, the fire had not spread inside the home.
In his complaint to the police the victim said that he suspected that the fire was set by his neighbor who had threatened him a few days ago.
The dispute began when the victim and accused had an altercation over a few broken chairs. Suspecting that the accused had broken his chairs the victim filed and FIR against him the same day and had him booked for committing assault, trespassing and intimidation.
When the accused found out that a complaint had been filed against him he threatened the victim and his family of dire consequences and promised to seek revenge. As per a police officer, "The accused has a lengthy criminal history and several cases of assault and criminal intimidation have been registered against him previously."
The accused has been booked for using fire with the intention of causing destruction under the IPC.
