A dwarf, who impersonated as a handsome man over Facebook and cheated a girl, was arrested, police said Wednesday.
The cyber crime police of Crime Investigation Department (CID) arrested Rajapathi (31), a resident of Bowenpally neighbourhood, for cheating a 22-year-old girl, to the tune of Rs 3,00,000 and gold ornaments of about 500 grams.
Police took up investigation after the victim lodged a complaint last month.

Additional Director General of Police SV Ramana Murthy said investigations revealed that Rajapathi trapped a girl through Facebook and another website by using picture of a handsome man, which he had downloaded.
An intermediate dropout, he proposed to marry her and she also agreed. During the chatting, the girl from Guntur informed him that her parents had readied money and gold for her marriage.
Citing kidney ailment, Rajapathi gained her sympathy and requested financial support. She gave the money and gold on different dates between January and October this year.
Rajapathi, posing as a friend of the man who befriended her over Internet, used to travel to Guntur to collect the money and gold. He always used to tell the girl that his friend was undergoing treatment in a hospital.
The police recovered Rs 4,75,000 lakh and 175 grams of gold ornaments, which he had pledged at a finance company. Police also seized a laptop, a datacard and two mobile phones from the accused.
He admitted that he was in contact with two more girls and was about to cheat them in the name of ill-health.
