Baghpat: A 35-year-old widow has lodged a complaint against a youth for allegedly raping her for two years on a false promise of marrying her.
Police said that a case of rape has been lodged on the basis of the complaint of the woman in which she has alleged that the accused entered into a relationship after her husband's demise on a pretext of marrying her.
The woman, hailing from Mubarikpur village under Khakhra police station area, approached the village panchayat after the youth didn't live up to his words of marrying her even after two years.
However, she alleged that the accused fled the village before the panchayat could take any action. Police said that efforts were on to nab the accused.
