The Yerawada police have arrested two mathadi union workers on charges of trying to extort money from a manager of a furniture company to allow him to unload a customer's goods at the Panchshil Techpark near Golf Club chowk in Yerawada
last afternoon.

According to the complaint lodged at Yerawada police station by Rajendra Manohar More (39), who works as a manager at the Nilkamal Furniture company at Ishanya Mall in Yerawada, he was supposed to deliver furniture at the Panchshil Techpark.

More had taken a tempo of the furniture and was stopped by the suspects at the gate. They also threatened him of dire consequences if he refused to pay the money," said Assistant Police Inspector C V Jadhav from Yerawada police station.
