What's in a name? A whole lot of feeling. So if you live in Mumbai with a head full of Bombay, you may want to wear your love on your sleeve, or in this case, a book cover. The Messy Corner's Postcards from India notebook series comes with a design for Mumbai with illustrations including the Bandra Worli Sea Link and the always-an-icon kali-peeli. Etch your name in this city because the diary can be personalised, making for a perfect gift even if it's âfrom self, to self'. Single ruled, hardbound, elastic closure are good ways for musings to feel luxurious.
Aanchal Poddar, who founded the company with her brother Aayush in 2015, tells us, "Through the series, we wanted to express the nostalgia that one feels when they think of their city. We started with Bombay because it's the closest to our hearts. Aayush and I were born and brought up here." Reminiscing iconic symbols, she continues, "We added the Sea Link because it is the first thing you see in representations of Mumbai, and of course, the Gateway of India." Look closely, the notebook illustrates different modes of transportation - "Depicting the busy city that never sleeps," Poddar signs off.
