Hair accessories are trending again, keeping in mind our still largely virtual work and social interactions. This time around, they're bigger and bolder than ever before. "Fun hair accessories can instantly liven up your look and add a touch of drama to even the simplest outfits," says fashion blogger Salisha Talwar.

She and other fashion-lovers share tips on how to style them.

Giant scrunchies

Super-sized scrunchies are versatile, says Sana Khan, founder of Bombay Closet Cleanse, a thrift store. "Use scrunchies on both sides of your head over space buns, or around a high half-ponytail for a halo effect," she says. You can also use multiple scrunchies to create a bubble ponytail.

Hair clips

Oversized bejewelled hair clips are being sold by numerous high fashion brands, including Chanel and Gucci, says fashion blogger Sonam Babani. You can fasten them over your braid or ponytail, or on both sides of your head, for a cutesy look. "Clips don't tangle your hair and stay put all day. Store them in zip bags or satin pouches so they don't lose their sheen," Talwar adds.

Turbans

A turban paired with a flowing maxi dress is the easiest way to nail the bohemian vibe, says fashion blogger Indu Srimal. You can also team a turban with a basic tee, denims and a biker jacket for an interesting street-style look. Despite their dramatic flair, turbans are an easy fix for untamed and unruly flyaways, or for days when you need to keep your hair in place and out of your way, she shares.

Romantic bows

Mukshah Noklang, founder of oh.so.dreamy, a thrift store, recommends tying your hair with a super-sized satin bow for a touch of old-world Parisian charm. "Bows go well with a variety of outfits. Pair them with cute sweaters or use them to add colour to black-and-white outfits. You could also wear a bow over a high ponytail or the topknot of your half-up, half-down hairstyle," she says.
