Papier
Sustainability and a love for fashion don't necessarily have to be mutually exclusive, according to Papier, a Deonar-based jewellery platform. The brainchild of Usha Nair Pithawalla, it specialises in exquisite paper jewellery that is made of old magazines, discarded paper bags, scraps of chart paper and other types of paper waste. The designs are bright and contemporary and pair well with both Western attire and ethnic wear. We particularly liked that the pieces are handmade by women from underprivileged backgrounds, and that certain designs also include other kinds of waste materials, such as paper clips and glass bottles.
