Jewellery from Gaze and Moo that will be on sale
Remember what offline shopping pop-ups were like? They are like tidbits of fashion, food and music, that congregate at a venue which hosts the different brands that set up shop. That's what's going to happen at Adagio, a cute two-storey space in Bandra, for a day this weekend. The event will feature indie firms. They have had to rely on the online model during the pandemic. But now, after the easing of regulations, they finally have a chance to showcase their wares in person again.
"We couldn't connect with our customers earlier," says Nihareeka Mhatre, founder of handmade crystal jewellery and home décor brand Gaze and Moo, about the lull that she had experienced during the past 20 months in terms of physically showcasing her products. She's the one who conceived the idea of this event, and she tells us there are 13 indie platforms, including hers, that she's curated.

These are all small businesses that are trying to find their feet now that we all seem to be back on our feet again. "It's an interesting time," Mhatre says about this period of economic resurrection. We have returned to face-to-face interactions, be it in office or at friends' houses, or at a physical pop-up where sellers and buyers interact before a purchase. There's no need to rely purely on e-commerce anymore. This offline shopping event at Adagio is proof of that.
