Thankfully, laughter isn't one of the common contagions we should be wary of. A hearty laugh, a few giggles and some food for thought served alongside wry smiles can help us hit that reset button almost instantly. Women Slay Sundays, a virtual event organised by Comedy Ladder, promises a time good enough to help audiences start afresh. Stand-up comedian Jeeya Sethi shares this presentation by women comics started a year ago during the lockdown. "I intend to continue with the digital show even after January, as the response has been quite epic," she adds.

As the host of the curated programme, Sethi says, "We are bringing an all-women line-up for our viewers. We also see this platform as an accessible means for women newcomers in comedy." Sethi informs that male viewers will have to purchase a ticket at twice the price women viewers will pay for it. "The price difference is intentional; it was maintained to encourage more women to come and join us," she explains. The event will see performers such as Sumaira Shaikh, Radhika Vaz, Aditi Mittal and Kajol Srinivasan, among others tickle our funny bones. Sethi, who hasn't yet decided which of the three new pieces she's been working on will comprise her set for the event, says the virtual event is her way of introducing her comic friends to an audience she knows and vice versa.
