Artist's whiskers
IF there's one thing that Salvador Dali is as famous for as his art, it is his moustache. In fact, the man had such a quirky sense of humour that he created a book called Dali's Moustache. It is in a Q&A format where a page with a question is followed by one with a picture and a caption that gives the answer. For example, one of the questions is, "How do you get such superb details in your paintings?" The next page has a picture of him using his extensive whiskers in the form of a paintbrush to create art on a canvas, with the caption, "Nature gave me my best tools." Quirky humour, like we said.

Watch

Razor sharp
Prepare yourself for 18 minutes of one of the most bizarre movie-watching experiences of your life when you switch on Un Chien Andalou. The surrealist film directed by Louis Bunuel and Salvador Dali stars not a person, but an object - a razor. There's one especially disturbing scene where Bunuel brings the razor so close to a woman's eye that you can hardly bear to watch it.

Listen

Artful harmony
Royal & The Serpent is an American musician who has a lovely song titled Salvador Dali. It's a laid back R&B track with glitchy electronic interludes and honest lyrics.
The words in the chorus go, "If you like Salvador Dali/ Burnt toast and coffee/ Slow jammy R&B/ I might be spinning your wheels/ But damn you'll be feeling me/ You'll see."
