Growing up in a Bengali household, certain cultural motifs become an inescapable part of one's childhood - the distinctive terracotta horses that our parents dutifully toted back from Bankura post our summer trips, the whimsical stories of Sukumar Ray (who is, in many ways, West Bengal's Dr Suess), or even popular landmarks from the City of Joy that etched their place in our holiday photo albums.
