A still from Raksha
A Bollywood blockbuster, a bowl of popcorn and a large, cushy couch are the usual drill for Friday movie nights. Still, after eating one too many pieces of buttery kernels, things can become a bit mundane.
Add a livelier soundtrack to your Friday night endeavours at The Pantry's Short Film Night, featuring a collection of shorts from around the globe, specially curated by Shamiana - The Short Film Club.
A still from The Day of Dead
"Short films have certain exclusivity to them as there aren't many people around who make them. So, I think that adds some excitement to the event," offers Cyrus Dastur, the club's founder.
Expect shorts from the US (Raksha), Mexico (The Day of Dead), and India (LUDO). "Each of these films carries an important message," Dastur says. "The thing that works best is variety."
