Port Trust Memorial at Ballard Estate
Mumbai's fleeting winter is the ideal time for its citizens to soak in the pleasant weather. Naturally, events centred on culture, heritage and the arts are held in the outdoors, adding a unique layer to their must-do itinerary.
Joining this is the newest entrant - India Heritage Walk Festival 2018 by Sahapedia. The Delhi-based encyclopaedia of arts and culture had kick-started this unique initiative last year, and has plans to take this idea across India's metros. The Mumbai chapter includes seven walks (all free) spread across three weekends.
A colourful frame from Bandra's urban landscape
There's something for everyone, and enthusiasts can pick from discovering the bylanes of Bandra to the history of the city's single-screen cinemas. Other walks will take participants through the unique neo-classical architecture in Dadar, the business district of Ballard estate, Mahakali Caves and Mumbai's familiar Irani cafes.
