Grab vinyls of albums by the likes of Queen, The Rolling Stones and jazz musicians at a clearance sale
Back in the day, many people considered listening to a record sitting in the comfort of their homes as the ideal way to unwind when alone, and to forge strong bonds if listening to them with a group of people. That changed over the years, with the advent of cassettes, CDs and then the digital era. Now, vinyls are slowly but surely making a comeback of sorts, and keeping that in mind, The Revolver Club (TRC) is organising a clearance sale of a huge number of used records that the shop owns.
Shalom Benjamin from TRC, which was started three years ago as a niche record store with an aim of getting people to hear good music, says, "Vinyls have made a huge resurgence and they are the best way to listen to music." He adds that the sale running this week involves used records being priced as low as '100, going up to '1,500 for the rarer ones.
The music on offer spans across western and Indian genres, with customers getting a chance to grab albums by the likes of Queen, The Rolling Stones and also jazz musicians. Plus, there is a rare collection of Bollywood retro music from the '70s and '80s, as well as a selection of Indian classical and ghazal records. "The response has been pretty great as the stock is moving quickly," Benjamin says. That's music to our ears.
