The restaurant has both AC and non-AC rooms. The air-conditioned room is mainly occupied by families and is beautifully decorated with attractive furniture and paintings. The non-AC room on the other hand is furnished modestly.
Monchow soup
A popular dish at Afzal restaurant-Mao Chinese is the Chicken Khepsa rice (Rs 550), which happens to be their speciality. We decided to try it as our main course after choosing the Monchow soup (Rs 60) as a starter. Our order arrived within 15 minutes.
The piping hot Chicken Khepsa rice, which was a combination of Schezwan Chicken, fried rice and boiled eggs was an utter delight. The chicken pieces were finely chopped, flavourful, well textured and the garnishing that was done using a variety of spices made the dish look colourful and mouth-watering.

Afzal restaurant-Mao Chinese is located at a peak area, making it a popular hangout for college students, school kids and families. This results in huge crowds on most days, which will make it difficult to get seating. We recommend opting for a parcel in such cases.
All in all, delicious non-vegetarian food belonging to multiple cusines, helpful, well dressed and interactive staff, quick service makes Afzal restaurant-Mao chinese a winner in our books and a must visit for lovers of non-vegetarian food.
