Binge on a burger thali and support a cause for the underprivileged to live the real spirit of Christmas
Back in 2012 Priyadarshan Bhore, aka Jimmy Bhore (vocalist of popular metal band Zygnema) returned to his hometown, Sangli, in an attempt to introduce new culinary flavours. Bhore began to explore this dream by selling four types of burgers on a pushcart, and after getting a good response, he returned to Mumbai and opened Jimis Burger in Malad. Five years and two outlets later, Bhore, who used to donate a chunk of proceeds from sales to an orphanage in Sangli, was itching to give something back to the city and has organised Jimis Gives Back, a charitable food initiative.
The epic burger thali
On offer is the epic burger thali, where you can eat unlimited sliders, side orders and drink iced tea at the Andheri outlet. This also includes a portion of dessert. All funds generated through the sale will be used to buy utility items for Shanti Nivas (St Jude's Church Trust, Goregaon East)."We have reached a stage where we have two outlets because of our customers' blessings. Usually, you won't expect to find a burger in a thali. The idea was always in the pipeline, so we felt that with Christmas around the corner, why not raise some money for a good cause," says Bhore.

Their vegetarian slider options include barbeque paneer, jalapeno popper and classic veg slider while non-vegetarians can pick from barbeque chicken, peri peri chicken and herb chicken. The entire menu for the day will be replaced by the thali. Since going live for bookings online, they have raised '66,606 within two days and completed 58 per cent table bookings for the day. If you're looking for an excuse to binge on burgers this season, you won't find a better one.
