This weekend, a pop-up featuring two home chefs brings the cuisines of Mangalore and Punjab under one roof
If you're a fan of regional Indian cuisines and happen to be around Andheri East on Friday afternoon, step into the Kaledonia co-working space for a pop-up that will present flavours from both the north and the south of the country.
Chicken Ghee Roast by Prabha Kini
Two home chefs - Prabha Kini and Manjeet Malhotra - will be serving their fare at the event, which is a collaboration between Bombay Connect and Authenticook. On the day, Kini will pull out authentic Mangalorean dishes such as Chicken Ghee Roast (Paneer Ghee Roast for vegetarians), Mangalore Buns, and Pineapple Sheera from her culinary magic bag. Malhotra, meanwhile, will bring out Punjabi classics like Lassi, Chhole Puri, Dahi Wada, and Phirni. The event will be open to those working at the space, as well as visitors.

Aneesh Dhairyawan, co-founder of Authenticook, says this pop-up is a way for them to give the hosts on their home dining platform a way to reach a bigger audience. "Prabha, in fact, has launched her own catering service called Prabhalicious, and this event will help her gain more visibility for her venture," he adds.
Ashish Goenka, founder of Bombay Connect, shares that they hope to repeat this event once every four months. "We did this kind of event in May this year, but on a smaller scale, and the response was great." Since the home chefs aren't cooking at the venue, portions will be limited. So, get there early to try all the dishes.
