Foodgasm. Is a popular hashtag used on social media, that refers to food so good, it gives you an orgasm. Foodgasm in Bandra didn’t give us one, though
Dragon Balzi
Dragon Balzi and The Coolant with a Kick
The new eatery aims to use fresh ingredients and offers a few interesting dishes and many common options. We started our meal with two beverages; The Coolant with a Kick (Rs 90) and Dragon Balzi (Rs 130). Coolant turned out to be plain old kokum sharbat. We preferred the dragon fruit vanilla ice cream and rose syrup blend. From appetisers, we picked The Turkish Punjabi (Rs 170).
The Turkish Punjabi
Stuffed with spinach and cheese, the gozlemes should have been less oily. The oil issue returned to haunt us with The Slim Chick (Rs 210) too; the vermicelli coated chicken fingers were greasy.
The creamy Red Rice Risotto (Rs 299) had great flavour with cheese and mushrooms, but we wish it were less gooey. We called for a Schnitzel Pizza (Rs 260), but it did not make it to our table even after half an hour.
The Raspberry Rhubarb Split (Rs 190) took another half hour, and was unpalatable. The mixed up mess that was served to us was a waste of good ingredients and our time. The service was slow and many diners waited to be fed.
Foodgasm needs to make the most of its competitive pricing and location and serve what is promised on the menu instead of just sounding interesting (think Seekh is Chic or Calangute in Bandra).
