From air hostess to Masterchef finalist, Akanksha Khatri has come a long way

30-year-old Chef Akanksha Khatri who was a former flight attendant from Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh turned out to be on one of the four finalists on Masterchef India Season 6.

Akanksha Khatri took the judges, Chef Ranveer Brar, Vikas Khanna and Vineet Bhatia by storm with her fusion food and innovative flavours.

Akanksha Khatri won the title of India's Digital Chef after defeating Rashmi Ahuja which was a show judged by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, Saransh Goila and Amrita Raichand.

Akanksha posted this picture with Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan and wrote, "When your work takes you around the world in midst of the best people."

Along with Akanksha, the other finalists in Masterchef India Season 6 were Abhinas Nayak, Oindrila Bala and Smrutishree Singh.

Abinas Nayak, an analyst from Odisha was declared as the winner on March 1 with Oindrila Bala of West Bengal being the runner-up.

In one of the episodes, where the contestant's family was called and asked to taste their food, Akanksha's special friend Kunj Anand joined her.

Akanksha got an opportunity to cook with Chef Vineet Bhatia on the show. She took to Instagram to express her gratitude and wrote, "Grateful that I got this once in a lifetime opportunity to cook with you. Dream do turn into reality and I am thankful that I got this chance here in Masterchef."

In the show, Akanksha was the first contestant to have got the golden apron as well as the 'Ticket to Finale'. She won three rounds which were to guess ingredients from a dish by renowned chef Amarinder Singh, make perfect kebabs and thirdly, make a dish within 15 minutes.

After reaching the Grand Finale, Akanksha wrote, "It’s been a long journey, from audition to grand finale of Masterchef India. I’m so thankful to everyone of you who has supported in this journey. You guys have showered me with unconditional love, which I won’t ever be able to reciprocate. All of you are part of my extended family now."

She added, "I would also like to thank my parents for supporting my dream and letting soar high in the @master.chef.india sky. Thank you all the three judges @chefvineet @ranveer.brar @vikaskhannagroup for imparting so much knowledge and culinary skills to me. I promise, I will make you proud in the coming time."

Akanksha's Instagram is proof that she became great friends with Smrutishree on the show. In one of her captions, she calls her a 'baby elephant and a squissy lady'...

Akanksha wished Chef Ranveer Brar on his birthday with an Instagram post. She posted the picture and wrote, "May you be as blessed as people feel when they taste your food. Words are certainly not enough to express my gratitude to you, You are the best mentor anyone could have asked for. I hope you have a wonderful birthday that's filled with love and joy."
